Wireline Overshot

Overshots are a key component of wireline coring system designed for running up and down the inner tube as part of Wireline core barrel to retrieve the core sample. It is lowered into the hole on a wire cable until it comes in contact with the spearhead point on the head assembly. When the inner tube assembly is attached and lifted, the lifting dogs automatically retract into position. No further manual job is required in this case and the possibility of human malpractice is naturally avoided.
The Overshot has been designed to minimize wall thickness and also offer maximum strength and the simple-to- use latching lifting dogs securely allows the operator to retrieve the core in a safe, reliable, fast approach to avoid accidental release for its safe mechanism
